Rehana clutched tightly to the rope as she pressed her back against the wall, adopting a position reminiscent of Spiderman. Peering down, she saw the guard standing in a wide stance, his hands positioned near his groin area. Confused, she watched as a thin stream of liquid spilled onto the ground at his feet. It was only then that she realized he was simply relieving himself.
A wave of relief washed over her, and she leaned back against the wall, waiting for the guard to finish his business. She kept still, her heart rate gradually slowing as she let out a quiet sigh of relief. The thought of being discovered had momentarily filled her with fear, but now she was once again in control.
Rehana watched in amazement as the guard appeared to drain an entire gallon of urine onto the ground. The flow seemed never-ending. And even after he was done, he took his sweet time, fiddling with himself before finally fastening his pants.
As the guard turned towards her direction, Rehanaâs heart nearly stopped. A single upward glance and she would be exposed. However, the guard simply ambled back to the front of the mansion, leaving Rehana to breathe a sigh of relief. The close call had been nerve-wracking, but she was grateful for her good fortune.
Rehana vaulted over the wooden railing. Rolled the rope back and with the grappling hook kept it back inside her bag.
From the balcony, she entered a dark room. The four-poster bed was vacant. The bathroom door was ajar. She peered inside. Vacant.
She strode across the dark room to the door. Turned the knob and emerged into a hallway. She remembered the housemaid, Afreena, had told her that the last room on the north wing was locked.
As she headed towards the last room, a voice stopped Rehana dead in her tracks.
âWho are you?â A male voice.
Rehana winced. Slowly turned around.
A man with dishes on his hand and deep frowns on his forehead. Seemed like a servant.
Rehana slowly headed towards the man, offering a fake smile. âHello. I⦠uh⦠Iâm Sophia.â
âSophia?â
Rehana strutted confidently down the hallway, her movements fluid and alluring as if she were a temptress on a mission to captivate. âYeah. Sikandar Sahab has invited me over here todayâ¦â She raised a suggestive brow. âFor entertainment, you know.â
The man licked his lips. Fidgeted on his spot. âI⦠I never saw you coming.â
She leaned forward and whispered, âSikandar Sahab didnât want anyone to notice my presence.â
The servantâs Adamâs apple showed a nervous swallow.
Rehana balled a fist and smashed a stinging blow into the manâs temple. The man staggered back and hit the carpet floor at the same time as the dishes. The thick fabric cushioned the fall, swallowing the clanks of the steel. Rehana caught a few midway.
Rehana dragged the manâs unconscious body and locked him in the same dark room from which sheâd emerged into the hallway.
When she was out, Rehana realised the trouble was not over.
She saw another man. This one looked like security. Not armed though.
